Weekend News

Good Evening!  This weekend will be the last weekend of Christmas decorations in the church. If you are able to help tear down, we are planning on getting started after 11am Mass on Sunday. Please stop in or stay after Mass to help if you can!
Also, a reminder that Mass times are the usual 4pm Saturday, 9am Sunday, 11am Sunday this weekend. Next weekend we will change to 8am and 10am on Sunday so that Fr. Peter can get to Beaver Island for 12:15pm Mass.
We are still collecting socks for the Elders in Tuba City, Arizona where former St. Mary School student, Katie Golski, works. Donations can be dropped in the big blue can outside the Parish office.
We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Bob Muneio/Superior Mechanical for donating the installation of an air filtering system in the Parish Center/Gym. The new filtering system will knock out any virus particles floating around & help keep the school children, and any other groups who may be using the Parish center at this time, safe.
We also want to say a very fond farewell to Michelle and Armand Coallier who will be moving downstate. Michelle and Armand have been active in many ministries here for several years and will be dearly missed by all of us!!
This weekend is Food Pantry Weekend. As always, donations can be made in the green envelopes during offertory collection or food items can be left in the baskets near the doors of the church. Thank you for supporting our local food pantry!
Finally, Father Peter’s article, “Happy New Year!” is now available on the Petoskey News Review’s website.  Enjoy your weekend!
“I know now that true charity consists in bearing all of our neighbors’ defects—not being surprised at their weakness, but edified at their smallest virtues.”
— St. Therese of Lisieux

Our newly donated Nativity set arrived on Wednesday and Fr. Peter was so excited he opened it right up and set it up outside! We can’t wait until next Christmas to get it out again!!
We are still looking for someone to fill the part-time custodial/maintenance position for the Parish/School. This position averages 12-15 hours per week from about 10am-12:30pm Monday-Friday. If you (or someone you know) are interested, please contact Kendall Hayes – 231-547-6652 or khayes@stmaryschoolchx.com
