What is the Holy Spirit saying to our Church today?
The whole People of God – ordained, religious, and lay alike – are commissioned to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ in the world. In the Holy Spirit, living in all the faithful, each member of the Church is given a part in drawing the world into communion with Christ. This participation of the baptized in the Church’s sacred mission, each according to their proper role, is called synodality.
Pope Francis has asked that, prior to the 2023 meeting of the Synod of Bishops in Rome, the People of God have an opportunity to contribute their prayerful reflection on how well the Church exercises synodality at various levels. Save the date for Sunday, May 1 after the 10:00 am Mass for the Synod Consultation at St. Mary’s Parish. Please plan on attending, your participation is needed! Let us begin to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit for our Synodal Consultations. Thank you!
For questions regarding the Synodal Consultation, please contact Elizabeth Gengle at the parish office.
